Center for Human Services

  • Provides counseling and case management services to children and their families
  • Available to children and their families in Stanislaus County, who have Medi-Cal
  • Clinical Services available include: assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders; individual and group therapy; family therapy; attendance at IEP’s and assistance with school issues; referrals to psychiatric services, parent mentors, and case management
  • Ask about the following programs:
    • Student Assistance Program (SAP) ,a school based prevention and early intervention program, grades K-12
    • Community Counseling clinics at sites around the county; provide individual, family, and group therapy
    • School Based Mental Health Services offered at K-12 school sites throughout the area

Josie's Place (Service Team & Drop-In Center)

  • Provide behavioral health services for young adults 18-25 years of age
  • Provide a supportive and young-adult centered environment for community youth in need of mental health services
  • Services include: Assessment, service coordination, mental health treatment, medication support services, housing support, benefits assistance, life skills education & coaching, physical health & wellness, drop-in center
  • Drop-In Center is a “hangout” for young adults 16-25 years old diagnosed with a mental illness. The center offers: peer support groups, activities & crafts, computer lab, recreation & field trips, jobs & job training, housing information, health care information
  • Membership requirements are to sign documents to consent to participate; if you are 16 or 17 years old, legal guardian consent is needed

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization.

  • Provide advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals
  • NAMI Peer-to-Peer is an education program focused on mental health, wellness and recovery for anyone experiencing a mental health challenge. They are free, open to adults, meet for 10 sessions, and no specific medical therapy or medication is endorsed or recommended.
