June Sparrow (They/Them) is excited for their 5th year on MoPride’s Board of Directors. They established Poly Am Pride, a safe space for folks in polyamorous relationships to find support and understanding. June has worked with several community service providers in Modesto and continues to be a proud advocate for their queer and disabled community.

Bettie Mercury (she/they) is best known as the head of Glitten Coven Cabaret (voted Best of 209 in 2023) but do not let that sparkle overshadow their work in the community. Bettie has been giving free haircuts to folks in need for years and is leading Valley Streetz Self Care. She joins the MoPride Board of Directors to further support their community as a proud queer Central Valley native.

Britni Lloyd’s (She/Her/Hers) first job was as a member of the Youth STD Prevention Team for the Stanislaus County AIDS Project. She later became the manager of the team after obtaining a Medical Assistant Certification. As manager she developed harm reduction presentations that were given at high schools, juvenile halls, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, and court mandated education classes. She continued her work by becoming a housing case manager working with Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS. Her passion to help those who have HIV/AIDS led her to becoming a caregiver and she spent five years as an end of life care giver for folks with AIDS before joining the MoPride team in 2018

Tabbitha Raebel (she/her/hers) comes to MoPride with 20 years’ experience in education and 11 years’ experience in queer support spaces. Since moving to Modesto in 2017, she has found purpose in her involvement in the community as a queer woman, which has increased significantly following her son and wife coming out as trans. Her most notable achievements in that time have been speaking at the Queer Modernisms conference at Oxford University in 2019, founding and facilitating the PolyAmI Support Group and Share Circle in collaboration with MoPride from 2020-2024, being a member of and in some cases chairing LGBTQ+ and DEI committees in higher education, and creating and facilitating trans inclusivity workshops. She enjoys spending time with her sons and partners, writing, painting, playing D&D, and hosting game nights with friends.

August Jackson (he/him) is a human resource professional in Modesto, where he has resided for the past decade. August is a long-time community member who was integral to supporting services in 2020 during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has a long-standing commitment to LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, and disability advocacy, shaped by his time as a teenager volunteering at RCC in Concord. This experience at a pride center profoundly shaped his understanding of the vital role that support, education, and community play in one’s personal journey. August is dedicated to advancing MoPride’s mission and ensuring that our center remains a crucial resource for every individual seeking support and empowerment on their own path.

Professionally, Crimson-Dylan spends their days as a welfare eligibility worker for Stanislaus County, but their passion for helping and building community is far from limited to the office. From facilitating Queer Roots, MoPride’s community garden club, to hosting crafting and gaming events at bookish, they can be found spreading creativity and community to every corner of Modesto. When they’re not out and about, Crimson can be found raising their cat son, Valentino, or gaming with their polycule.

I have been living in the Modesto area for 23 years. The thought of giving back to the community has been in the back of my mind for a long time. With that said, there is no better place to support than MoPride, that has helped my family greatly. Thank you for the opportunity.
