On May 17th, MoPride invites you to gather in community at Graceada Park for our annual Pride Picnic — a day rooted in connection, care, and the reminder that it’s okay not to be okay.
Pride is often seen as a celebration — and it is — but it’s also a space for honesty. For many in the LGBTQIA+ community, the journey includes moments of struggle, isolation, and navigating a world that doesn’t always make space for us. This year, we’re creating space for all of it: the joy, the resilience, and the reality that healing isn’t linear.
Building Community, Together
At its heart, the Pride Picnic is about connection. It’s about showing up as you are and being met with understanding. Whether you come with friends, chosen family, or on your own, you’ll find a space where you belong.
Spend the day:
- Connecting with local community resources that center care and support
- Meeting others who share your experiences and values
- Taking a moment to rest, breathe, and just be
Because community care isn’t just a concept — it’s something we build together.
Supporting Queer Creativity
The Pride Picnic is also a celebration of the creativity and resilience within our community. We’re proud to highlight local queer artists, makers, and small businesses, offering a space where their work can be seen, supported, and celebrated.
Every purchase, every conversation, every moment of support helps sustain and uplift queer voices in our region.
Ending the Stigma Around Mental Health
“It’s okay not to be okay” is more than a phrase — it’s an invitation to be real with ourselves and each other.
Mental health stigma continues to impact our community in profound ways. By creating spaces where people can show up authentically, we begin to break down those barriers. We remind each other that:
- Struggling doesn’t make you weak
- Asking for help is an act of strength
- You are not alone in what you’re feeling
At MoPride, we believe that visibility, compassion, and connection are powerful tools for change.
