Downtown Modesto Pride 2019

After MoPRIDE, Inc. stepped back from hosting our annual Pride event, several community members and organizations stepped up to ensure Modesto would not lose this important event. Downtown Tinker Tank, Laser Voodoo, and The Shire began to organize the first Downtown Modesto Pride! MoPRIDE, Inc. quickly elected a Pride Director and assisted to bring the community together. The community was quick to respond and get involved, including event sponsor Sutter Health! Big thanks to everyone who helped out or came out to make this an amazing event for Modesto.

Modesto Stands Up to Hate

On August 24th, organizers of the hate based Straight Pride Parade met in Modesto. Our community came together in response to this hate event that targeted LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, people of color, and non-Christians. Less than 30 supporters came to the Straight Pride Parade and were met with hundreds of protesters. While the protest was tense, it remand peaceful.
